Celtic Minded

£10.99

Celtic Minded was first published 2004. It was not titled Celtic Minded 1 because the editor and publisher never believed we were starting something that would pick up its own momentum – so it‘s Number 1 in the series followed by CM2, CM3, CM4 and CM5. CM 6 is due in 2026.

About Celtic Minded

Following football is strongly tied to notions of community and identity. But many supporters of Celtic FC have experienced a dilemma in having been regarded with hostility in Scotland because of their historic ethnic Irish and religious origins. Such antagonism, still prevalent today, is reflected in an ill-informed and sensationalist media. In turn, this works against the realisation of a plural and genuinely multicultural Scotland. Over 20 contributors from Scotland, Ireland, North America and Germany, including Professor of English Literature Patrick Reilly, author and poet Des Dillon, Herald newspaper columnist Hugh MacDonald, composer James MacMillan, former players Tommy Gemmell and Andy Walker, and an appreciative Foreword by leading historian, Professor Tom Devine.
